| Wow guys, so it's been an eternity since I last blogged. But I guess today I have a good excuse to write. Do you know why?? It’s my birthday, yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah now I’m finally 19. I know, I’m young, but it’s all good. Today was a pretty good day. I wore my new white and pink striped track jacket from Pac Sun that I bought this weekend. I stopped by work to get my timecard signed by my boss because I forgot on Thursday, and my boss surprised me with a Devil’s food cake that she baked for me. It has chocolate frosting and hazelnuts and almond slivers to represent candles. It was sweet and good. Then Jennifer gave me a birthday gift. An awesome card with cool confetti on the front, a small bottle of lotion and some cool purple and pink earrings, thanks Jen!! Then I had dinner at Thairiffic with 7 fellow Cerro people, freakin’ awesome. I wore my Hawaiian lay that Lee bought for me, pretty, pretty! Good food, great conservations, good times…thanks for dinner guys!! A random mini grocery trip on Monday night, thanks for driving Christine! All in all, a good birthday, but that’s not all…
So this weekend was like the best birthday weekend ever!! So I skipped class on Thursday to take a flight from SLO, to LAX and then to Palm Springs. By the way, thanks to Kuya and Elva for taking me to the airport and picking me up, you guys are awesome. So, where was I going? No not to Palm Springs, silly, I went to Twentynine Palms to visit my boyfriend. The real reason I went down there this weekend was because Lee invited me to the Marine Corps Birthday Ball. It was on Friday, so I flew in on Thursday night and stayed until early Sunday morning. I had so much fun. Lee showed me around the Marine base, where he used to stay, the barracks where he lives in now, the PX, the commissary, the place where he works. I also took a lot of pictures of humvees, tanks and other types of vehicles and stuff being stored there, pretty crazy.
The Marine ball was really fun. I never went to a formal quite like that, and I mean it was really formal. All men in uniform, and the majority of them in dress blues, yeah hotness! But of course I was with the most handsome one of all, my Lee! At the beginning, they did a ceremony where Marines hold up swords and present the colors, which is when they present the American and Marine Corps flags, and stuff that show how and why the Marine Corps was created. Did you know that the Marine Corps was started in a bar? Yeah it’s a true fact, that’s why every November 10th, the Marine Corps celebrates its birthday and a bar always exists. Cocktail hour was before the ball and a lot of Marines, especially the higher ranking ones, were pretty buzzed already. They were dancing and looking like fools and they didn’t even care. Lee and I danced to a couple of songs, two slow dance ones. Man does that take me back to Senior prom. It was so sweet being with Lee and meeting his fellow Marines. It was an experience I will never forget.
Saturday we cooked lunch because Lee got us a room at a lodge on base that had a little kitchen. We went to Cabazon and shopped at the factory outlets there. Surprisingly, I only bought two things, my pink and white track jacket (not on sale) and a periwinkle Puma mini backpack (on sale). Lee bought more stuff than I did, which is a good thing since he doesn’t really shop. Afterwards, we went to Casino Morongo where we stayed for an hour and played nickel slots. I won like $6 bucks, yeah, considering I probably put in that much, but hey it was fun. Unfortunately, I had to leave really early on Sunday morning. My flight was at 5:30AM, so taking into account the hour and a half drive from Twentynine Palms to the Palm Springs airport, that means I woke up at 2:30AM, yeah it sucked. So once I got back to SLO at 8, I crashed for like 3 hours. So yeah, this weekend was awesome. Thanks so much Babe for making this wonderful weekend possible, I love you so much and I still miss you!!!

| Ok, so I know that I haven’t blogged in like forever, more like 2 months. I just don’t have the time or energy to do anything anymore. I feel so relieved right now…more like this very moment. Just finished my one and only final, but it was physics…yeah physics. I’ve been studying since Sunday night for this damn final. You would think that rereading over 4 chapters, doing all the example problems, doing all the hw problems again, going over past quizzes and notes would be enough studying…but no! I looked over the answers after I took the test, sucks but it’s over and done with. Done with physics forever, pending that I get a C, then I will be happy. So now I can finish packing and start relaxing.
So here is what has been going on since I last blogged.
Memorial Day weekend was the best break I’ve had since like spring break. Although it was right before dead week, which in arch terms means lots of work, nonetheless, my boyfriend came to visit me and we had so much fun. Waking up next to the man that I love so much is so nice. It was the best 3 night, 4 day visit we’ve ever had. Also it was the most expensive, man that boy spoils me, love ya Babe!!! I didn’t realize how much I miss him until he came, but it especially hit me after he left. It’s so hard to say goodbye to someone you love so dearly, but it’s not like forever. Let me emphasize again that we had a lot of fun that weekend, lots….enough said!
Man, Lee getting a car was probably the best decision he’s ever made…ha ha ha…j/k Babe! Cruising in a black, Acura Integra (rice rocket) up and down SLO was pretty fun. Oh man is that car low, and manual, just the way Lee likes it. Slow on those bumps and dips now Babe…careful…oh…damn. I went places that I haven’t been to in a while like the beach, the real Splash Café and Asian Cuisine. I also go to downtown without busing it like I normally do. I must say the ride is a lot more pleasant.
I can’t wait to see you Saturday Baby, ooh whee!!!! More fun awaits us. Home sweet home here I come. Not leaving out of the dorms until Friday night, then staying at my sister’s place in Santa Cruz and going to my real home in Woodland Saturday morning. Then I will be shopping, hanging out with Lee for 2 weeks, finding a job and taking a class at the community college, not bad for a summer.
So the end of my first year at college is coming to an end, but the party has just begun. Here’s to another four to five more years, oh yay! I will miss all the great friends I’ve made here in SLO this summer, but next year will be great.
Realization: Every member in my family is on PCE staff except for me, I wonder why that is? Did someone said architecture major…what??? Man this sucks, but at least I can do PCN, yay kuya and ate for being coordinators.
So this is the last blog I will make here in SLO. Everyone have a great summer, get some color on ya guys, damn. I shall see you next year. Lots of hugs!!!
| Oh wow was this weekend was cool. First of all, I must thank the people who made Cesar Chavez’s birthday a holiday for us at Cal Poly, I just love having a day off in the middle of the week. To top it off, I didn’t have class on Friday because our arch class got cancelled so we could drive to LA for our field trip on Saturday. I didn’t work on Friday because I had to do some last minute errands before I left, so pretty much it was a 4 day weekend for me, freakin’ awesome. Got a ride form Lauren and Cristina, Jennifer and I were in the same car. I never knew the drive from SLO to LA on 101 was so pretty, a beautiful coastal drive. Traffic isn’t fun though, so about 3 and a half hours later, we got to LA. Met up with a bunch of other people from arch class who stayed at Allie’s house with us and we ate at this Mexican restaurant called Lola’s. It was pretty good. Then the 9 of us crammed into Allie’s living room, sleeping bags and all, good stuff.
So Saturday was the big day. We left in the morning for the Ghetty museum. Took the tram up to the museum which gave us a view of the city, pretty cool. The museum was amazing, I took a whole bunch of cool pictures. Took a tour of the architecture but the tour guide really didn’t know what she was saying, she couldn’t stop talking about the art, uh hello architecture? Whatever, so Jennifer and I walked around, looked at some art and the new exhibit, ate lunch that was hella expensive, and sketched for over 2 hours in the beating sun until we had to leave at 2:30. Then we drove to downtown LA where we visited the Our Lady of the Angels cathedral. It was an interesting building, but definitely not a traditional style cathedral. Apparently the pope died that day so there was a memorial in the church with candles, I lit one. It was weird because there were over a dozen news vans lined up along the street doing their broadcast and interviewing people at the church. I hope I’m on the news somewhere! Then we walked to the Disney concert hall and then drove by the Caltrans building. All in all a fun yet tiring weekend.
Can’t wait until this weekend because Lee is coming to visit, yay! He’s taking leave for a couple days and coming up to see me of course, who else. So I’m taking him to the big premier for Leave it to Chance on Saturday night. I’m so excited for this weekend. Let it be Friday already so I can see my Lee again, love ya Babe!!!
Quotes of the day courtesy of me:
“You’ll be freezing your asses off, but you’ll be sweating like rhinos.”
“I have over $700 plus dollars, order the steak please, damn it.”
“Are they giving us forks, come on Christine, lets buff up our spoons.”
| Wow, spring break is awesome. Having the freedom to go to bed as early or
as late as I want is something I haven’t been able to do when I’m at
school. That’s what I love about being
home, sleeping in my own cozy full bed, sleeping in as long as I want, watching
tv and movies, listening to music, eating good home cooked food, playing with
my dog and birds and just hanging out with my family. Oh yeah, and shopping is great too, my
parents buy me stuff when I’m home, a luxury I don’t get when I’m at Cal Poly.
Whenever I’m home, I just start cooking because I don’t get
to cook my own food in the dorms, and personally I don’t really want to, not in
that kitchen. When I came home, I saw a
bag of Reece’s Peanut Butter Chips that I never used so I made double peanut
butter cookies and man were they delicious, chewy and all!! Apparently that batch only made 2 dozen
cookies and they were gone pretty fast so the next day I made oatmeal scotties. I can’t wait until we get to live in Cerro
next year. I’m bringing my cook books,
that’s all I can say.
I can’t wait until Saturday for one of two reasons. My mom wants to have Easter lunch on Saturday
because she’s working on Sunday and I’m going back to Cal Poly then, which
really sucks by the way. So on Saturday,
we’re going to have a mini get together for Easter. Yummy home cooked food is always nice. The other reason that I’m so excited about
Saturday is because Lee is coming home, YAY!!
His sister is driving for like 10 hours down to 29 Palms to pick him up
and then driving back to Sacramento. So I get to see Lee again and he’s coming to
lunch on Saturday. I just want to hug
him so hard when I see him, it’ll be great.
I’m gonna hang out with him all day Saturday and just enjoy the time I
have to spend with him.
So being home is great but I miss my friends at Cal
Poly. Yes that means you Short and Tall
Christine, little Anne, Jennifer and my ates and my kuya, I miss ya all!
| A time of separation between a loved one, no matter how long, is difficult but once reunited, well lets just say..."Love is in the air!" Ha ha, yeah so it was my one year anniversay with my one and only boyfriend Lee. Seeing him come back from the Marines down in 29 Palms was great, he didn't change much in some ways, but a lot in other ways. I'm glad that he actually made it. Lee practly spent half of his weekend traveling on the Greyhound bus that took an over 8 hour drive back and forth just to see me for literally 21 hours. Oh but it was worth it. Holding him in my arms was a moment that I will cherish forever. I must say, receiving 2 dozen roses on Friday from Lee was so sweet, considering that I got another 2 dozen red roses from him less than a month ago for Valentine's Day. Then yesterday I got a package of Ghirardelli chocolates and a teddy bear from him too, aww Babe you shouldn't have.
Spending time with Lee is always priceless, although he was the big money spender this weekend, as I said, priceless. Staying at the Days Inn (enough said), coming back to campus to introduce Lee to friends, shopping downtown and eating dinner at Mandrin Gourmet made for a great anniversay. Departing was hard, considering it was at 2:30AM Sunday, but it's never easy. So Happy 1 Year Anniversary again Lee, and may we share many more memories together.
On another note, just a little tid bit it information. If you really want to take a shower at night, check the status of the showers because you never know what can go wrong. Short Christine and I experienced this yesterday at like 12AM when we proceed to take a shower together, I mean at the same time of course. We were about to walk into the shower room, when much to our surprise, we find the drains clogged with who knows what and the place flooded, not an enviting place for a shower. So second floor was our only alternative to getting clean that morning, so we took a little trip. Yeah, I don't enjoy taking a trip to the second floor girls bathroom in only a robe carrying shower necessities and a towel because it does catch people's attention. Well that was an experience I hope we never have to do again, k Christine (short)?
So the end of a good weekend, say hello to dead week. Less sleep and stress here we come!!!
